At the heart of the following application form, we are going to ask you to answer a single, two-part question. Just that. How you answer it is completely up to you. This replaces our previous application and interview process – so it really is the key part of your application. We are looking to be WOWED! We hope to be impressed by your unique perspective and by your deep understanding of Hoxby values. So please do take real time to respond thoughtfully.

You can upload your answer in written format (one page only, even if a presentation), as a video or audio file (max three minutes), or as a visual (such as artwork, photo, picture etc – again, one page only). Perhaps numbers are your thing and you want to upload a spreadsheet! Choose whatever suits you best to express yourself best. But remember, whatever format you choose, the majority of our decision is based on your answer and therefore the most important part of your application to spend time on.

Please upload your answer to a cloud space (such as google drive) and share the link in the appropriate section of the application form.

To understand your fit to Hoxby’s values, vision and ethos, please answer this two-part question:

Why do you want to be a Hoxby and what does the #workstyle movement mean to you?

We try to get back to applicants within 14 days, so keep an eye on your email inbox.

If your application is successful, you will be asked to sign an associate agreement and show proof of insurance (details below).

We bring people into the community in groups so, once the above are returned to us, we would expect to welcome you into our Slack community within a further three weeks.

Among your onboarding documentation, you will receive information about completing a Hoxby trial and about calls with current Hoxbies.

Among many other things, being part of the Collective enables you to apply for Hoxby opportunities on our various projects, at which point your relevant skills will be further reviewed by the project leader.

At their time of joining the Hoxby community, we require all associates to have obtained professional business insurance with a reputable broker (based on a high rating by the leading insurance ranking companies, Moody’s, S&P, A.M. Best, etc).

- Professional indemnity insurance with a minimum level of cover of £1,000,000 (£2,000,000 if you are a Hoxby Managing Director or Director), or the equivalent in the associate’s local currency per claim.

- Public liability insurance with a minimum level of cover of £1,000,000 (or the equivalent in the associate’s local currency) per claim.

- Employer’s liability insurance, if operating as a company and employing others.

Due to the complex nature of insurance markets, the required professional business insurances are not available in all countries. Regretfully, Hoxby is unable to accept associate applications from persons living in regions that do not currently offer professional business insurance policies.

Regardless of your location, we encourage you to look into the feasibility of obtaining an insurance policy, and the associated costs, as part of your decision to complete an application to join the Hoxby community.

Hoxby is, at heart, a community. Here are a few of the ways that we enable members to support each other…

Self billing – we invoice ourselves on your behalf to save you valuable time.

Payment terms – regardless of our payment terms with the client, or when a project is completing, we pay all our Hoxbies 14 days after the end of the month in which they deliver work.

Tax returns – for UK Hoxbies we provide heavily discounted support with tax returns (and are looking to expand this worldwide).

Meet-ups – while Slack is our virtual office, we recognise the enormous value of personal interactions, too. We help Hoxbies host Hoxby Homes around the UK and the world, taking over a house for Hoxbies to work together and meet each other. We also have co-working groups and local meet-ups.

Unfortunately the following form won't save your answers, which means you’ll need to set aside enough time to complete it in one go.

After you have completed your application form, please follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn – and join the #workstyle movement that’s changing the way we all work.
